Ending Sequence Project: The Phantom of the Opera
Storytelling Project 03: Title/Ending Sequence
My idea for this project was to create an ending sequence.
My concept for the ending sequence is to show the significant or important items/objects that were portrayed in the movie. Objects in The Phantom of the Opera has lots of meanings. Therefore, I want to show the meanings through the objects.
I was influenced in stained glass art in the movie, so I created some style frames that are influenced from it.
Program Used: Photoshop, After Effects
The ending sequence contains lots of hidden meaning to it.
Each object represents/defines the character. (cast name)
- Chandelier: Symbolizes the great, big Opera House.
In the movie, Chandelier falls to the ground, caused by the Phantom
- Candles: Candles are showing everywhere in the movie.
- Letter: It’s a letter that is written by the Phantom of the Opera House and he uses
to welcome or threat people.
- Violin: Symbolizes whole musical in the movie. Also the orchestra playing the
background music for the signers.
- Rose: Phantom’s first gift to the main character Christine. He ties the black ribbon to
tell that he is watching her. (The Phantom: Gerard Butler)
- Mirror: Christine sees the Phantom through the mirror for the first time. Behind the
mirror, there is hidden path ways. (Christine Daae: Emmy Rossum)
- Monkey: Represent’s the Phantom that he used to be a clown. In the beginning of the
movie, Raoul buys this at the auction to give it to Christine. (Viscount Raoul de Chagny: Patrick Wilson)
- Mask: It symbolizes the Phantom and also Madame Giry, who has been taking care
of the phantom in the Opera House for long time. (Madame Giry: Miranda Richardson)
